Dear Sir

Make more babies to solve EU population problems

Several of us read your comments regarding the above and to put our feelings mildly – it hurt!

We suggest that you deal with one of the secret roots of the problem of reduced child birth rates and do not just assume it is down to women. There are many women in this country that would like more children only we are stopped from doing so. Many I know would have liked 3 – 6 children however were stopped after one. Others wished to have six and were stopped after four. There are at least a hundred women a year that this is happening to, probably more. I can not give you exact statistics as they are kept a secret, even though legally they are available to the public.

We hope that by this point you would like to know how we have been stopped. We were all given a post pregnancy hysterectomy (usually after a caesarean that we did not give informed consent to). All without informed consent. Many had specifically refused consent and this was ignored. Some have also had their ovaries removed. Some have also been circumcised. As previously stated we can not give exact figures, as no one is keeping them and when this is done there is no legal requirement for it to be declared to any central body. Nearly all hospitals, when directly contacted, refuse their statistics, how accurate those we receive are, is unknown.

Unfortunately most doctors deny this that is happening on a large scale and that the circumcision and ovary taking does not happen. Far too many of our notes do not show that we were any where near death when this procedure was carried out, as that is the most common excuse.

Some of those that this happens to (as most find the cost completely prohibitive), that were graciously permitted to keep their ovaries, try the surrogacy route. Unfortunately if you refuse to bow down and say thank you to those that put you on this path, or follow a legal route you are stopped. If they also discover that you are informing other of what can happen (as non of us knew) you are also stopped.

So the next time you say such a thing, know the hurt you cause to those who wish for, hope for, pray for and suffer every day for our lost wanted children.
