This has three sections, post pregancy hysterectomies, planned
hysterectomies and other childbirth/arrival accounts.
We sincerely thank all of those that have taken time to assit with compiling
these accounts.
They will hopefully allow you to make a more informed decision
and have a healthier happier ending ... or rather a begining ...
This section gives a summary of infromation that each person has offered. The account is how they came to be in this position. A lot of people call them stories however sometimes this brings ideas of something being made up. I would hope none of our accounts are made up. Some of the people I know very well and I have seen copies of their notes, for others this is not possible. I would hope any information on here is treated with the utmost respect. I remember when I first gave out my 'birth story' to the radical midwives, I was SO scared to hit the send key due to all I had been put though.
The questionaire is lots of questions that we hope will allow us to start compiling statistcs and to allow others to feel 'normal'. This questionaire is constantly evolving. I discovered only the other day that some very obvious questions were missing.
The journey of further children will hopefully give hope to some. At the moment I do not know anyone that has completed their family after this event. When I started my journey and IVF treatment I had been told somethings from a doctor, however how they percieve things and how it is for us can be very different things.

| (0006) There is someone else that I have asked for their account and hope they will share it with us. This lady was given an illigal total abdominal hysterectomy after her first child. They removed her ovaries also - the excuse 'well they will stop working within two years anyway' - England | (possible future addition) |

Several people have changed their plans after learning about these possible consequences. To date all c/s that had been strongly advised by a doctor and the expectant mother decided to attept a vaginal delivery have had happy endings. I am hopeing that they will find the time to write their accounts for us.
