Dear Sir or Madam
Post Pregnancy Hysterectomy Support
I am one of the people that have been hysterectomized following childbirth. Myself and others have set up a support network where we offer support to others in our situation and as part of our research we are compiling information about this event.
We are asking if it is your task to compile this information or if you can forward this request to the appropriate person. Please provide what you can and if you can not please state why. I am delighted to say that the hospital that I was at has been very helpful in this area.
We would like the figures from 1990 to present inclusive.
Number of births
Number of home births
Number of caesareans planned/emergency
Number of hysterectomies
(Could you indicate if these are post vaginal delivery, post caesarean or if
they are for the people that
have them at the same time for whatever reason).
Type of hysterectomy
Reason for the hysterectomy
Number of maternal deaths
Reason for the maternal death
Number of baby deaths
Reason for the baby death
If the person had a hysterectomy and then died (as we know has happened) can this be clearly shown?
It would be helpful if you advise us if you would be happy to pass on our information to others. We know that you cannot give out a person’s details, however if you can forward our details to them, they then have a choice of contacting another person in this position. Each of our situations are different, and we all need different help in different ways, however we know from personal experience how beneficial it has been to all of us.
Thank you for any time taken in this matter.
Yours faithfully
Ms A Shaw
