These are the hospitals that have been contacted to supply the details of post pregnancy hysterectomy rates since 1990, you can make your own conclusions from the reponse or lack of. If post pregnancy hysterectomies are only ever done, if absolutely necessary, as the very last resort, and are so rare, why are the statistics hidden? If the hospitals handed them over as easily as how many expectant mothers they treat one, would not feel that something was being hidden.

The statistics that we requested are legally available to the public, however you would not think so...
Our gestimte was that it was happening to about 400 - 600 in the UK each year based on 2 - 3 per hospital per year. We thought that that was horrendous.
Unofrutnely if we use the statists based on births in England and Wales, the % that are vaginal births and % that are caesarean extractions and using various % we now estimate the problem to be up to about 1,500 (one thousand five hundred) people and families effected every year! *** For our calculations click here
